TiddlySteps® Dance Time is the culmination of RVDA’s 46 years of experience and expertise. This exciting and innovative program is designed specifically for our future little performers.
RVDA has been training and guiding children since 1980. Our current Principal and Artistic Director, Ms Oates, is a qualified educator with over 30 years of experience in early childhood learning. Together with our former Academy Director, Ms Eicens, they have developed a program to motivate and inspire every child to be a little star with big dreams.

In our caring and vibrant environment, your child will receive a high-quality dance education with classes featuring a choice of Ballet, Hippity Hop, and specialised Dance Programs.
What is the TiddlySteps® Dance Time Program about?
Designed specifically for the 3–6 year old age group, our Dance and Drama program offers a joyful foundation for both girls and boys. We focus on developing vital coordination, fine and gross motor skills, rhythm, and musicality through a play-based, child-centred approach.
In every class, we ignite imagination and spontaneity while building spatial awareness, confidence, and friendship. While our atmosphere is one of independence and fun, the program is underpinned by a rigorous, age-appropriate syllabus delivered by passionate teachers who truly nurture every student's potential

Pre-Primary /Primary: 4-6 yr old

TiddlySteps® Hippity Hop
Girls: The TiddlySteps® Pink uniform with tan tights and Jazz shoes
Boys: Lime green TiddlySteps® T shirt and black bike shorts with white socks and black jazz shoes
TiddlySteps® Ballet and TiddlySteps® Dance
Girls: The TiddlySteps® Pink uniform with pink tights and pink ballet shoes
Boys: Lime green TiddlySteps® T shirt and black bike shorts with white socks and Black ballet shoes
What is the cost?
Class fees are:
TiddlySteps® Kinder Ballet (3-4 yr old) = $175.00 one class weekly per school term
TiddlySteps® Pre Primary/Primary Ballet/Dance (4-6 yr old)
1 weekly class per school term = $175.00
2 weekly classes per school term = $350.00 (children that chose to do 2 classes weekly)
New student Registration and enrolment fee = $85
Do you Have a Concert or Performance?
Although not compulsory for our youngest dancers, we arrange various productions throughout the year. Our Toddler and Kinder aged children are given the option to perform, particularly in our end-of-year concert. This event features all of the Academy's dancers and is always a highlight of the season.
Students in TiddlySteps® Dance Time, Primary Ballet / Dance, and Hippity Hop are automatically included in the Academy’s end-of-year performance. However, participation remains optional, allowing you to choose what is best for your child.

TIDDLYSTEPS® Dance Time (Kinder level ages 3-4yrs )
Kinder level
The TiddlySteps® Dance Time program offers an engaging selection of classes designed to introduce boys and girls to the art of ballet, whilst exploring Jazz and other genres. In a creative and nurturing environment, children explore the world of performance through a child-centred curriculum that balances exploration with direct instruction.
Students learn the foundations of classical dance, including good posture and equilibrium. We provide a gentle, natural introduction to "turnout," and encourage the development of stretching, flexing of the toes, and graceful use of the arms.
Our structured classes are specifically designed for the preschool age group to develop:
- Physicality: Co-ordination, fine and gross motor skills.
- Musicality: Rhythm and a love for both age-inspired and classical music.
- Character: Imagination, spontaneity, friendship, and confidence.
Most importantly, we blend ballet basics with creative movement to ensure our dancers learn the fundamentals while having fun. We strive to create an atmosphere where every preschooler can blossom into a confident little dancer whilst exploring the joy of movement.
TIDDLYSTEPS® BALLET (from 4 yrs )
Pre Primary/ Primary
The fundamentals of ballet continue to be explored and elevated to the next stage of development in these classes. Lessons include a fun and engaging warm-up, followed by a structured set of "centre" syllabus steps that encourage the growth of technical skill. Just as importantly, students also engage in imaginative exercises combined with improvisation to develop musically and find true freedom of movement.
TIDDLYSTEPS® Hippity Hope (from 3 yrs )
Pre Primary/ Primary
This class focuses on the modern forms of Jazz and Hip Hop, along with basic gymnastics and creative movement. It is specifically designed for children who are bouncing with energy and can’t wait to get moving!
Lessons commence with a warm-up that builds upon the skills gained in our Kinder classes, incorporating travelling steps, mini-routines, and exploration. Other creative elements include:
- Drama and Improvisation: Encouraging self-expression and character work.
- Use of Props: Enhancing co-ordination and engagement.
- Exploration: Developing freedom of movement in a fun, supportive space.
